Roberto D. Montebon has signed off from the SU Medical Center Foundation Inc. after 28 years of loyal, devoted, and passionate service as its president/administrator.

A testimonial dinner was organized for Montebon where the Board Directors took turns to express their wellwishes for him.

“We are immensely proud of and grateful for his extraordinary leadership as it oversaw the organization’s expansion into being the sole tertiary hospital in the Province of Negros Oriental,” read a statement from SUMC.

Montebon retired after 28 years as the Hospital’s pioneering president, “to make way for a new chapter of his life and career”.

Members of Montebon’s family and close friends, as well as other distinguished guests and the Hospital’s Board of Directors, attended the intimate testimonial dinner.

“We wish Mr. Montebon a joyful retirement and all the best in his future endeavors as he enters this new phase of his life. We appreciate everything he has done to shape this institution into what it is now. We will always be blessed and honored to have come across a man like him who is brilliant, humble, devout, and selfless,” the SUMC statement read.

Meanwhile, SUMC also welcomed the Board- appointed OIC-President/Administrator Fredita R. Tan, effective December 2022, who will serve in the interim while the BOD Search Committee continues to scout for a permanent president/administrator.

For several years, Tan was vice president for Nursing & Patient Services.

Tan said she commits to “continue serving the community as it lives on the legacy of selfless service, bringing fulfillment to our Hospital mission,” which is to care for people as a Christian ministry of healing. (SUMC PR)
