The provincial government of Negros Oriental is set to construct 34 new classrooms for elementary and high schools in the province.

Governor Roel Degamo said he is determined to complete the target 34 classrooms especially for schools that badly need new school buildings.

He said it is part of the commitment of the provincial government to augment the need of the schools that cannot be provided by the Department of Education.

Governor Roel Degamo has recently turned over a two-classroom school building in Sumaliring High School of Barangay Sumaliring in the municipality of Siaton.

The said school building has a total project cost of P1.4 million that is appropriated from the provincial school board fund.

The governor also promised to give additional budget for the construction of a school stage. (PNA/ JFP/Maricar Aranas)
