The city government of Dumaguete through the leadership of Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria has put up more than P50 million worth of various programs and projects in his one year of office.

The programs, projects and activities have been completed, some are on- going, and others have just started are within the approved annual investment plan of 2011.

The projects were classified into four categories:

A) Economic Services- which includes the concreting, asphalting of city and barangay roads and construction of drainage systems.

B) Environmental Management -which is the 1) Rehabilitation of controlled dumpsite including acquisition of equipment and other important tolls for the same purpose, 2) Urban greening projects in various barangays and city spearheaded by the Environment Natural Resources Office,General Services Office and City Economics Office, 3) Construction of erosion control structure, desilting and channel improvement of Banica and other rivers and creeks, 4) Construction of public sanitary facilities.

C) Social Services- includes; 1) Acquisition of mobile medical and dental clinic,2) Construction and Rehabilitation of Day Care Centers, classrooms for early Childhood Development, Health Centers in the different barangays and other government building such as the women’s training center, environment training centers and others, 3) Electrical Services and water supplies to poor shelters in the different barangays.

D) Socio-Economic Development Pragrams project and activities like; 1) improvement of faí§ade at Bogo cemetery, 2) improvement of road and drainage system infront of Balugo mini park beside Balugo parish church and many more.

Others projects includethe P23 million worth of Boardwalk or boulevard extension in which amount is personaly solicited by Mayor Sagarbarria from the different senators who joined him in his vision and beautiful dreams for Dumaguete and his initiative for change and economic growth and lately the P100 million from the National Government for the Metro Dumaguete diversion road.
