The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association (MDPPA) has challenged the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Negros Oriental to improve their facilities and services for faster transactions.
Allan Santiago, a representative of MDPPA, said the most common complaints of the motorcycle dealers in Negros Oriental are the slow services provided by the LTO. Santiago clarified that he also encountered the same complaints in other provinces, being the National Sales Manager of KYMCO Philippines motorcycle products.
He also challenged the national government to improve the facilities of LTO in the provinces and hire more personnel to cope with the growing number of motorists in the province.
The MDPPA is a group of motorcycle dealers and manufacturers in the country that extends help to motorists and help improve road safety.
Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental are known as the motorcycle capital in the country, having the highest number of motorcycle users, Santiago added.
He clarified the MDPPA is trying to make an appeal to the LTO national office to evaluate and review the situation of LTO branches in the provinces.
Santiago said he is hoping that their appeal will be heard because they are also affected with the slow operational system of the LTO in the provinces.
The Vice President for Operations of GUD Moto Trading Incorporated, Sammy Ondona, said they are also hoping for a more reliable online registration system of the LTO.
He expressed concern over the unreliable registration system, saying they have plenty of clients from far flung areas in Negros Oriental and the neighboring provinces. (PNA/Maricar Aranas)
