The Silliman University National Writers Workshop, the oldest creative writing workshop in Asia, returns for its 63rd year from June 9 to 20.
Ten writers from across the Philippines have been selected as fellows in the categories of Poetry, Fiction, Creative Non-fiction, and Balak, following a rigorous selection process. This year’s fellows represent a diverse literary and geographic spectrum:
Poetry: Alter Hofileña from Davao City, Jose Velando Ogatis from Las Piñas City, and Kiko Caramat from Quezon City;
Fiction: Christina Mirasol Sayson from Bacolod, Allene Allanigue from Las Piñas, and Kadi Serafica from Isabela; Creative Non-fiction: Adelle Chua from Quezon City, Aimee Faunillan Abella from Cagayan de Orom and Jennie Arado from South Cotabato;
And the lone fellow for Balak: Leonel Quillo from San Fernando, Cebu.
Now in its 63rd year, the SU National Writers Workshop remains a cornerstone of literary mentorship and innovation in the Philippines. It continues to uphold its mission of cultivating the next generation of Filipino writers across languages and forms.
The Workshop has also opened its call for volunteers and auditors. For more information, follow the official Facebook page: The Silliman University National Writers Workshop. (Warlito Caturay Jr./SU OIP)
