The Provincial Tourism Unit led the Negros Oriental delegation in the silver jubilee edition of the Philippine Travel Mart, an annual event organized by the Philippine Tour Operators Association as the biggest travel and tourism exhibition in the country catering to inbound tourism.
Each year, tourism stakeholders set up booth exhibits featuring the finest tourism goods and services all over the country to promote local destinations and vacation and leisure options in the Philippines, attracting international and domestic tourist traffic.
Myla Mae Bromo-Abellana, senior tourism operations officer, said the 25th Travel Mart, which ends Sept. 7, 2014 at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City, will feature colorful exhibits, Sale ng Bayan Tour Packages, and cultural presentations. LGUs, resorts, hotels, and dive shops are participating as exhibitors. They will engage in selling the country’s best to a large contingent of travel writers, tour operators, potential tourists, and investors.
Abellana said the Province’s delegation is supported by the provincial government of Negros Oriental, the city government of Dumaguete, the Sidlakang Negros Association of Tourism Officers, the Negros Oriental Hotel, Resort & Restaurant Association, Maganda Travel & Tours, and Orientwind Travel & Tours.
Continued presence in the annual Travel Mart has contributed to the growing increase of visitor influx in the Province, Abellana said. (PTU/bfvillasis)
