All fishing and farming activities are allowed to continue in Negros Oriental. These activities, however, have to follow protocols on enhanced community quarantine, including social and physical distancing, in keeping with measures mandated by the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19.
In the advisory from Agriculture Secretary William Dar on March 24, movement of all supplies used for fisheries and agriculture shall go on without delays.
According to Mario Neil Montemar, president of the Negros Oriental Federated Fisherfolks Association, fishers from South Negros, in particular, are free to go fishing any time with fish catch to be transported so long as they have a quarantine pass.
