The provincial government of Negros Oriental has registered a 48.57 percent accomplishment in its vaccination roll out as of Feb. 8.
Assistant Provincial Health Officer and Provincial IATF Incident Ground Commander Dr. Liland Estacion said this tanslates to 482,221 individuals who completed their vaccine doses out of the target of 990,637.
This also includes persons under the eligible pediatric population.
There are 525,959 persons in the province who had taken their first dose of COVID-19 vaccines.
Meanwhile, the health official reported that Negros Oriental logged 396 new cases of COVID-19 as of Feb. 8.
The number is the accumulated figure based on the swab test results that came to the Integrated Provincial Health Office from Feb. 4-8.
Despite the new cases that were recorded in the Province from Feb. 4-8, the number of active cases of Covid-19 infection in the province has decreased by almost half since the peak last month.
Based on IPHO data, the number of active cases as of Feb. 8 is lower than the 1,623 recorded on Jan. 31.
Dr. Estacion appealed to the public to always be on their guard and practice minimum health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“Dili nato kalimtan na we still practice or abide the minimum health standard sa gobyerno. Dili ta magpakumpyansa. Magpadayon ta sa atong naandan para kita safe and healthy from Covid-19 (Let’s not forget to keep practicing the minimum health standard given by the government.
