Nineteen municipalities in Negros Oriental received brand new Mahindra police patrol vehicles as part of the procurement program of the Philippine National Police.

The simple turn over ceremony was held during the regular Monday morning flag raising ceremony at the Negros Oriental PNP Provincial Office.

Gov. Roel Degamo led the turnover of the police patrol vehicles, and was assisted by OIC Provl. Police Director Sr. Supt. Dionard Carlos.

According to Sr. Superintendent Carlos, the patrol vehicles arrived Friday in Negros Oriental, and that he ordered them turned over at the earliest time possible so they can be fully utilized by the police stations.

The Governor in his brief message following the turnover of the vehicles exhorted the police to dutifully serve with dedication and commitment to maintain peace and order in the Province.

Fr. Ferdinand Ferraren led the blessing rites of the patrol vehicles before they were handed over to the police chiefs of the 19 towns of the Province.

Recently, the Negros Oriental PNP also received a Kia troop carrier which is now assigned with the Provincial Public Safety Company.

Sr. Superintendent Carlos said he is hopeful that the PNP hierarchy in Camp Crame will release additional patrol vehicles for the six cities of Negros Oriental. (PNA/JFP)
