Four Negrense footballers have returned to Negros Oriental after playing for the Philippine Football team, also known as the Little Azkals, during the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-13 Football Festival in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia last June 1 to 6.

Jose Anton Catacutan Yared and J Henry Hamdan, both from Dumaguete City, Kairylle Parao of Bacong, and Ian Eumague of Bayawan City, flew into Dumaguete last Thursday and proudly displayed their medals to their welcoming friends and relatives. Also on hand to meet them were coaches Frankie Caballes and Toto Milan.

Yared, a high school sophomore at Silliman University, was made the Philippine team captain for U-13. He made the first and only goal during their first game, which Singapore won 2-1. The team’s over-all result had 4 wins, 3 losses and 3 draws.
