Two chapters of the Knights of Rizal, Dumaguete and Audana, recently received their official charters, while 32 men joined the Order.
The Supreme Council, represented by Supreme Pursuivant Mark Roy Boado, Deputy Supreme Commander Bernie De Mesa, and Timothy Francisco presided the Knighthood, Exaltation and Chartering ceremonies.
The Aduana Chapter is headed by Commander Assam Aurita, Deputy Commander Elmer Bailio, Chancellor IsraelAlin, Pursuivant JerryMartinez Jr., Deputy Pursuivant Elorde Talisic, Chapter Exchequer Elizir Lao, Deputy Exchequer Elizalde Deligero, Auditor Irlito Avenido.
One of the major projects of the Knights of Rizal is the Dr.Jose Rizal inter-collegiate essay writing contest in Negros Oriental.
Grand prize winner was Gwaineth Stefhan Pabinguit of Negros Oriental State University; 2nd place was Rachelle Jane Velasco from Colegio de Sta. Catalina de Alejandria; 3rd place was Analyn Besario of Foundation University. Consolation prizes were given to Honey Grace Tiongco of Silliman University, Jolouis Anne Odquin of St. Paul University Dumaguete, and Miles Dayao of Presbyterian Theological College.
The panel of judges was composed of Dr. Henry Sojor as chairperson, Dr.Tichie Baena, and Dr. Maria Cecilia Genove.
