A changing of guards took place today at the provincial Department of Education (DepEd) building after the Negros Oriental DepEd Division formally welcomed its new Schools Division Superintendent in a turnover ceremony.

Dr. Salustiano T. Jimenez stepped in as the new Provincial Schools Division Superintendent, replacing Dr. Marilyn Andales who is set to assume as the new city schools division chief in Guihulngan City.

Jimenez was with DepEd Cebu Provincial Division before assuming his position in Negros Oriental.

In his speech during the turn-over ceremony, Jimenez expressed gratitude for what he described as “overwhelming warm welcome” from officials in Negros Oriental.

He assured that he will give his best in order to fulfill his mandate as the schools division superintendent in the province.

Jimenez also sought the support of local government officials. “I hope, starting today, we will work together as one, in order for us to produce resounding results,” he said.

“I am here to serve in Negros Oriental. I accept this challenge,” he added.

The ceremony was witnessed by Gov. Roel Degamo, First District Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong, and Third District Rep. Henry Pryde Teves. (RMN/PIA Negros Oriental)
