The Negros Island Regional Development Council has commended the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce & Industry for winning last month the 2016 Most Outstanding Chamber of Commerce in Asia & in the Pacific in Taiwan.
The special commendation was made in a unanimous Resolution passed during the NIRDC full council meeting held Thursday in Bacolod City, presided by NIRDC Chairman Gov. Alfredo Marañon.
Frank Carbon, Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry Regional Governor for Western Visayas and NIR, read the special commendation on mass motion, and lauded NOCCI President Edward Du for bringing honor and pride not only to NIR but to the entire country as well.
NOCCI will compete again against more than 30 countries in the 2017 World Chamber Awards competitions in September in Sydney, Australia.
NOCCI has played a key role in the creation, retention, and successful operation of the NIR these past two and a half years.
NOCCI President Du was also unanimously elected as chairperson of the NIR Economic Development Committee.
