The Negros Oriental Football Association will compete in the upcoming Philippine Football Federation-Smart National U-22 regional elimination on Nov. 10-15 at the Panaad Sports Complex in Bacolod City.

Fifty aspiring football players of Negros Oriental under 22 years of age joined the try outs on Sept. 2 and 4 at Cimafranca Ballfield, hoping for a chance to be part of the team that will represent the Negros Oriental in the PFF-Smart U-22 regional elimination.

And out of 50 players who competed, 30 aspiring players will be chosen to join the team.

The NORFA team will compete with the teams from Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Leyte, Samar, Cebu, Calbayog, and Bohol clusters to represent Visayas, according to Edwin Cabalida, one of the coaches of NORFA.

The winner from Visayas will compete with the winners from Luzon and Mindanao cluster for the national finals.

The winner in the finals will represent the Philippines in the Under-23 South East Asia Games next year.
