Four out of seven Negros Oriental State University civil engineering graduates passed the Civil Engineer Licensure Examination given on May 6 and 7 this year in Cebu City. NORSU got a passing percentage of 57.14 percent.
NORSU President Dr. Henry A. Sojor said the State University’s percentage rating is still much higher than the national passing percentage which is 34.07 percent.
Out of 3,307 examinees nationwide, only 1,130 passed the Civil Engineer Licensure Exam.
The successful examinees are Ernie Diputado of Sibulan, Kristoffer Lyle Gantalao of Dumaguete City, Celestinaonte Ojano of Valencia, and Lemalyn Ragasa of Lazi, Siquijor.
Moreover, a three-day Skills Upgrading Training for the faculty in industrial technology and engineering of the NORSU System was held first week of May at the College of Engineering & Architecture with the theme, The Universities and Colleges of Industrial Technology in Response to Calamities.
The skills training focused on electro pneumatics, purely pneumatics, micro controllers/logic circuit, power generation, refrigeration and air conditioning, and UG NX Software. The training was sponsored by the Philippine Association of Colleges & Universities of Industrial Technology Inc.-NORSU Chapter, in cooperation with Haytec Power Inc. (Joy G. Perez)
