NORSU teacher presents results of study in Malaysia confab

A journalism and communications professor of the Negros Oriental State University recently came back from Malaysia after reading a paper in the media conference of the Asian Media Information & Communication Centre.

Dr. Joy G. Perez was one of 12 Philippine presenters in the conference held July 11-14 at Selangor, Malaysia.

Perez, who is also public information officer of the only state university in Negros Oriental, was the only presenter selected from the Visayas.

She presented her paper titled Internet Use Among Community Newspaper Journalists in the Philippines: Its Impact. The paper was a part of her doctorate dissertation.There were 182 respondents in her study coming from 55 community newspapers nationwide.

The event in Malaysia addressed problems and prospects emerging from new global developments for media practitioners and academics, providing retrospective and introspective views on Asian media and communication. (PR)
