The Negros Oriental State University is scheduled to install Dr. Noel Marjon Yasi as its fourth president on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Yasi was chosen by the Board of Regents over several qualified candidates with a term beginning July 13, 2024.

Dr. Yasi previously served as vice president for Administration & Finance of NORSU.

He has a Doctor of Counseling Psychology degree from the Carolina University in the United States, and a Masters Degree in Sociology-Anthropology from Silliman University.

In previous engagements with NORSU officials, Dr. Yasi stressed his strong desire to bring the State University into the world ranking, emphasizing that there should be no student left behind as they journey towards their chosen field because they are being trained with relevant, effective, and up-to-date skills to become successful professionals.

Dr. Yasi was also part of MetroPost in the early years as a member of the paper’s Editorial Board. (AP)
