Dear Unvaccinated Friend,
I respect your stand against the CoViD vaccine, and your vehement refusal to get vaccinated.
I get it — “your body, your choice”…“your body is your temple” etcetera, etcetera.
I give you that respect, and I refuse to engage you in an argument regarding your views and opinions about vaccinations.
I just give you a deaf ear, and respectfully ignore your conspiracy theories about CoViD and the vaccines — be it “medical claims”, or religious theories about the “mark of the beast”, or claims of politically- motivated agendas, or the apocalyptic zombie theory.
You will still be my friend, albeit our now socially-distanced relationship.
You mock me for my trust on the vaccines, and for the CoViD protocols I adhere to, like wearing of face masks, social distancing from the unvaccinated, keeping company only within my CoViD bubble/social circle.
I do not laugh at you, nor do I give you the ‘eye roll’ like you do about my sheep-like faith on the vaccines. That is borne out of my respect for you, and because I value our friendship. I don’t even mind that you call me, and others vaccinated like me, “sheeple”.
You ask me why, despite having had my two CoViD vaccine shots and booster shot, I still have to wear my face mask, sanitize my hands frequently, and observe social distancing.
You ask me, “Don’t you have enough confidence and trust on the vaccines you so believe in?”
You say I’m not as knowledgeable as you because you have read and researched everything about this virus. You say I should not trust the US Centers for Disease-Control & Prevention, the health officials, and the Food and Drug Administration worldwide, and to believe instead the articles you’ve come across on Facebook, and other social media outlets online.
Here are my answers to your sarcastic questions:
1) I observe these protocols because there are still many out there, like you, who refuse to get vaccinated, and as such, your unmasked, unvaccinated “temple” will still be a host to the rapidly- spreading CoViD mutations. These mutations will never end — courtesy of your unvaccinated “temple”.
2) I wear a mask and I observe strict CoViD protocols because I still have grandchildren (ages 1 and 9 years old) who do not yet qualify to get vaccinated. I wouldn’t want to pick the virus from the unvaccinated “temples” roaming around out there, and pass it on unknowingly to these children.
3) Doing my part to help fight this pandemic that has ravaged the world is my responsible contribution and cooperation for our medical frontliners. I value their sacrifice and dedication in caring for the sick.
4) I have faith that the vaccines will spare me from getting a serious infection because 98 percent of the medical professionals have gotten themselves vaccinated.
And for this reason, I did not just carelessly or recklessly — “like a sheep” — submit myself to get vaccinated. Who am I to argue with experts in the medical field?
As for the so-called implanting of the “mark of the beast” chip on my body, magnetic or otherwise, I have faith on the clergy of my Church, who likewise have wisely gotten themselves vaccinated.
Besides, should medical experts and the clergy be wrong about the vaccines that would result to our “deaths within two years”, dying with them would still be the better option than existing in a world without doctors, nurses, medical technicians who can attend to my health issues in the future.
Nor would I want to live in a world without priests and nuns to nurture my soul. God forbid I’ll only have you and your group of the unvaccinated to rely on for medical emergencies.
5) Hospital data back up findings that majority of hospitalization and serious conditions (even deaths) come from the unvaccinated — way more than the vaccinated. So, my friend, I’m just trying to raise my chances of survival by getting vaccinated. Besides, I cannot afford the cost of hospitalization in the ICU that I understand can run up to the millions.
6) Leaders from countries all over the world have now started to impose CoViD protocols on their citizens. Vaccine cards, vaccine passports, and lockdowns for the unvaccinated seem to be a direction now being considered. These world leaders must know a thing or two about these virus. Or do you and your group of the unvaccinated know better?
Here’s looking forward to a CoViD-free world, and may we still see each other in our twilight years.
Respectfully,
Your Vaccinated Friend
