The Office of Civil Defense in Negros Oriental has advised local government units to review their respective disaster management plans to avoid bigger damage when the next storm comes.
Cabaron said local government units should have a specific plan in place which can be implemented down to the barangay level in the event of a calamity.
He made the recommendation after several local government units appeared to be ill-prepared for tropical storm Sendong.
Cabaron said that the Province’s Geo Hazard map, which was made in 2009, should also be reviewed in order to reflect changes the field.
