Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Negros Oriental have arrested suspected drug personalities during separate operations over the weekend and seized close to P200,000.00 worth of suspected shabu.
A police report on Monday said that around 7 p.m. Sunday, personnel of the Negros Oriental PNP Provincial Office (NORPPO)-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit headed Sr. Insp. Don Richmon Conag, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Provincial Public Safety Company and the Dumaguete Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cadawinonan, this city.
Arrested during the buy-bust operation at a low-cost housing project in Cadawinonan was Jeperson Kinaguran Manugsad, 33 years old, married, and a resident of the said place.
Confiscated from his possession were 10 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu granules weighing more or less seven grams, the police report said.
The suspected shabu’s value was pegged at P77,000.00 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board pricing.
Meanwhile, another drug suspect was arrested in an earlier operation by joint operatives of the same units over the weekend also in Cadawinonan.
The suspect was identified as Reynold Tolentino Torres, 27 years old, a resident of the same place.
The operatives confiscated four pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu granules weighing some 10 grams with an estimated DDB value of P110,000.00.
The suspects were charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act as amended. (Judy Flores Partlow/PNA)
