With the aim to serve the academic units and the nearby community of Dumaguete, Foundation University inaugurated on Sept. 23 the Edgar S. Pasimio Memorial Clinic at the Foundation Preparatory Academy campus along Dr. V. Locsin St.
The new healthcare facility is named after the late Edgar Sevilla Pasimio who spent four fruitful years in campus as a generous benefactor.
His stories of success as an engineer, tax consultant, janitor, businessman, and a member of the US Navy have also been a source of inspiration for the community.
Rev. Fr. Romolito Reyes led the blessing rites of the healthcare facility, while Dr. Edmund Pasimio, eldest son of the late Edgar, unveiled the facility’s marker, together with FU President Victor Vicente “Dean” Sinco.
During the topping off ceremony earlier in February, President Sinco said that the Pasimio clinic is a realization of the Sinco family’s long-time dream to have its own healthcare facility. The US-based Pasimio family helped fulfill that dream.
The building design includes recycled glass bottles bearing the signatures of benefactors, stakeholders, and University officials, plastered in the walls. The bottles usher in natural sunlight, demonstrating another of the University’s innovations in promoting environmental sustainability.
The Edgar Sevilla Pasimio Memorial Clinic is dedicated to serve the FU academic community and the Dumaguete public through state-of-the-art facilities and industry-grade care options. The clinic also has its own pharmacy.
It will also serve as a teaching facility of FU’s Nursing program.
Present during the inauguration ceremonies were FPA Supt. Dr. Mira Sinco, Dr. Edmund Pasimio, 1st District Rep. Jocelyn Sy-Limkaichong, Negros Oriental Vice Gov. Mark Macias, FU Trustee Karen Villanueva, FU administrators, and the FU construction team. (Klein Emperado)
