A pastor of an evangelical church was shot and killed by six suspected NPA rebels inside his church in barangay Calupaan, Guihulngan City, a report from the Visayan Daily Star said.
Leonardo Bacolod was reportedly mistaken for a military informant, said 1Lt. Von said Ryan Gomez, 11th Infantry Battalion Civil Military Operations Officer.
Bacolod was about to officiate at a regular worship service when armed men barged into the church, looking for a barangay official whom they believed was a military informant.
However, Bacolod emerged and he was shot at by the guerillas, with AK 47, M-14 and M-16 assault rifles, the report said.
