President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday expressed hope that the job seekers trying their luck at the Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas fair would get employed so they could have a better future.

This was after Marcos congratulated the 27 applicants who were hired on the spot during the job fair in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

Ibig sabihin, hired on the spot. Ibig sabihin, meron ditong nakakuha ng trabaho. Congratulations sa inyo (The job fair is there to find jobs. When I entered, there was one already wearing a HOTS T-shirt. That means, hired on the spot. That means someone here got a job. Congratulations to you),” he said.

“’Yung mga iba pong nag-apply pa lang. Good luck sa inyo. Some are still looking for a job. Good luck to you. With the talent of our workers, you will somehow find good jobs).”

Marcos also said the government would continue providing assistance to the Filipino people, especially those still in need of help.

He said he is committed to empowering the poor and vulnerable sector by providing new employment opportunities.

Sana naman ay mabigyan ng trabahong may future (Your government is doing everything to help those who need help. We are also helping those who are having difficulty finding a job to find a good job, not just an ordinary job. I hope that you will be given a job with a future),” Marcos said.

I hope that what we are doing would help improve your livelihood, improve the lives of your families, and in that way, make our beloved Philippines better).”

Organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas“ program seeks to empower graduating beneficiaries of the DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) through employment opportunities, livelihood assistance, and access to essential support services.

The government is set to assist 4.4 million household beneficiaries this year.

In Dumaguete City, 15 participating employers offered more than 1,700 job vacancies to about 3,000 job seekers who are also beneficiaries of the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation Program.

Job seekers may also avail of pre-employment documentation and advisory services from participating government agencies. (PNA)
