The Philippine Coast Guard is asking the City of Dumaguete for the former campus of the Calindagan Elementary School to expand their office.
Commodore Ludovico D. Librilla Jr., Commander of the Coast Guard District Southern Visayas, which has jurisdiction over Negros Oriental and his officers formally presented their request to acquire additional office space for its local station considering the significant increase of personnel assigned in the Negros Island Region.
In his letter, ENS John Hoffer G. Olis, Commander of Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental, informed Mayor Felipe Remollo that due to its ample space and strategic location, the former campus of Calindagan Elementary School can address their immediate need for additional office space.
The PCG officers assured that they will be responsible for the upkeep of the school facilities and will cause minimal disruption to the host community.
Also present during the courtesy call are City Administrator Lilani Ramon, Dumaguete Sub-Station Commander CPO Melchor G. Iñigo, Assistant City Administrator Dr. Dinno T. Depositario, City Engineer Lloyd Tenaja, Atty. Froilan Joseph Pinili and Junob Punong Barangay Isagani Bana.
