The Public Employment Service Office of Dumaguete City is now accepting as many applicants to the upcoming JobStart Program for young people aged in search of a job.

PESO-Dumaguete chief Ms. Socorro Mira disclosed late Wednesday that the registration for JobStart applicants will run until Aug. 31.

Interested applicants will undergo screening and are required to bring their birth certificate, resumé and 2 x 2 photos to the PESO Office located at the 2nd floor of the Building 2 of the Dumaguete public market complex, she said.

According to Mira, this is the 3rd wave of the JobStart program for Dumaguete, with 240 slots available this time.

Qualified to apply are those aged 18 -24, at least a High School graduate, college level or college graduate, she said.

This is a first come, first serve basis with those qualified to be given free Life Skills Training, technical training, all with free lunch and snacks and P200 per day stipend, Mira said.

Priority will be given to Dumaguete residents, the PESO chief said.

The JobStart program is undertaken by the local government unit and its PESO office, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Asian Development Bank and the government of Canada to provide job opportunities to young Filipinos and to increase employment in areas where the program is being implemented.
