The Philippine National Police in Negros Oriental has confiscated in various anti-narcotics operations close to P28-million worth of suspected shabu since President Duterte’s assumption of office on July 1, 2016 which marked the start of his campaign against hard drugs.
In a report submitted Friday by the Negros Oriental PNP Provincial Office headed by Acting Provl. Police Director Sr. Supt. Henry Biñas, records show that from July 1, 2016 to June 30 this year, a total of 2,793 grams of suspected shabu was seized from different parts of the province.
Also, 116.26 grams of marijuana were confiscated during the same period.
The total value of the hard drugs that police authorities recovered within that period is pegged at an estimated value of P27,924,776 based on figures by the Dangerous Drugs Board.
For the same period marking the start of Oplan TokHang and onward to Project Double Barrel Reloaded, the NORPPO reported having conducted a total of 437 operations, to include buy-bust, entrapments, and servicing of search warrants.
A total of 555 suspected drug personalities were arrested, and 664 cases filed in court.
On drug surrenderers, the total number recorded by the NORPPO reached 13,290, with 12,546 users and 744 pushers.
