Police operatives have some confiscated P7,254,422.00 million worth of suspected shabu in various anti-illegal drugs operations in Negros Oriental for the month of September.
The number of persons arrested this past month totaled 36, with 40 anti-illegal drugs operations conducted and 40 cases filed in court.
This week alone, some 300 thousand pesos worth of shabu had been seized in two separate operations in the capital city of Dumaguete, according to Chief Insp. Benedick Poblete of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Provincial Intelligence Branch.
On Friday, joint elements of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) and the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) of the Negros Oriental Philippine National Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Dumaguete City Police searched the house and premises of one Kenny Belandres, 31 years old, single, at Purok Orchids, Sitio Canday-ong in Barangay Calindagan Dumaguete City.
The early morning operation resulted in the confiscation of four big “bultos” (street slang for large volumes of illegal drugs) of “shabu”, weighing more or less 20 grams, with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P236,000 more or less, a police report said.
Law enforcers also recovered during the search, which was witnessed by Barangay Kagawad Meliton Patrimonio, a Lenovo cellphone, a blue book that contains records of transactions by the hundreds of thousands of pesos, an improvised burner, tin foils and lighters, among others.
Two other members of the organization identified by Orapa as Sullivan Berwasa and Jun Belandres are at large after they managed to escape during a separate buy-bust operation early this morning while the operatives were concentrating on securing the premises of Belandres’ house.
Meanwhile, around 6:15 .am. Tuesday, law enforcement agents conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation at Zone 3 in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City by virtue of Search Warrant No. 35-2015 issued by Executive Judge Gerardo Paguio, Jr.
During the search, the operatives recovered 14 transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu and other alleged drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was identified as Ronaldo Cerilla Abreja alias Marlon Magat, male, 42 years old, married and a resident of Zone 2 in Barangay Looc.
The law enforcers confiscated an estimated 4.5 grams of suspected shabu with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of 53,000 pesos. (PNA)
