The members of the Philippine National Police Provincial Advisory Council in Negros Oriental were inducted into office Tuesday in a ceremony at Bethel Guest House.
The PNP Provincial Advisory Council is composed of eight members, chaired by Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo.
The members are: former Gov. Jose Baldado, Atty. Jose Alan Comon of the National Police Commission, former Negros Oriental PNP Provincial Director and now retired Sr. Supt. Mariano del Mar, retired Police Supt. and Tanjay City Councilor Juanito Condes, Farrah Gentuya of the Department of Interior & Local Government, Msgr. Julius Heruela of the Diocese of Dumaguete, and Judy Flores-Partlow, manager of the Philippines News Agency-Dumaguete.
PNP OIC Provincial Police Director Sr. Supt. Mariano Natuel Jr. said the induction and oath taking of the Council’s members was a precursor to the upcoming presentation of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office of its Performance Governance System operational dashboard.
Sr. Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, acting chief of the Regional Investigation & Detective Management Division of the PNP Regional Office 7 based in Cebu, and former Dumaguete City police chief and Negros Oriental Provincial Police Director, inducted the Provincial Advisory Council members.
The Council members are expected to discuss the operational dashboard of the Negros Oriental PNP for review, revisions, suggestions, and refinement prior to its submission to the higher PNP authorities for approval.
The PNP’s Performance Governance System involves the crafting of operational and tactical dashboards for the provincial, city and municipal police units with a corresponding scorecard to aid them in performance improvement on crime fighting, crime prevention and other tasks and functions.
The PNP units will have a scorecard to be used to keep track of their accomplishments with the Provincial Advisory Council monitoring them to see whether they have obtained their targets at the end of a specified period, said Sr. Supt. Natuel.
A panel of PNP and civilian authorities appointed by the PNP hierarchy in Camp Crame in Quezon City is expected to arrive in Negros Oriental this week for the final submission and, hopefully, the approval of the NOPPO’s operational dashboard. (PNA/JFP)
