The Philippine National Police’s second highest official, Police Lt. Gen. Jose Chiquito Malayo was formally declared as an adopted son of Dumaguete City.
General Malayo, PNP deputy chief for Administration, was declared an adopted son by the Sangguniang Panlunsod of Dumaguete City for being instrumental to the success in the recruitment of Dumagueteño cadets for the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City, and for his exemplary accomplishments as an officer of the PNP.
A press statement from City Hall said that General Malayo, a native of Tanjay City, has also been recognized for his strong determination, devotion to country, and service embodying the enduring character and true spirit of a Dumagueteño, worthy of emulation and recognition.
“He generates a trail of success, and raises the bar in the commitment to maintain and preserve the peace and order of the City,” the statement said.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo presented a plaque of recognition to General Malayo last week.
General Malayo’s service in the PNP is recognized through the 181 awards, decorations, and appreciations he has received, including the most coveted Cavalier Awards for Police Operations given in 2016 by the PMA Alumni Association Inc. (PR)
