The Philippine National Police in Negros Oriental seized some P1.3 million in suspected shabu and arrested more than 100 people for various offenses across the Province.

In an interview, Provincial Police Director Col. Germano Mallari said the synchronized operations under the PNP’s “One Time, Big Time” were the second in June.

“We are directed to conduct simultaneous operations by the different police stations against illegal drugs, illegal firearms, wanted persons, and other forms of criminality twice a month to sustain our peace-keeping efforts,” Mallari said in mixed English and Cebuano.

A consolidated report Tuesday showed that the 24-hour simultaneous operations on June 25 resulted in the arrest of six suspected drug pushers and the confiscation of more or less 205.84 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated price of some P1.399 million.

On illegal gambling, 48 people were arrested in 13 separate operations while 53 wanted persons with one most wanted person were arrested in 48 individual operations.

The police also confiscated 28 loose firearms in six Oplan Katok operations, while six other firearms were surrendered to the authorities.

A total of 51 individuals were also arrested for violation of various city and municipal ordinances. (Judy F. Partlow/PNA)
