As of Jan. 29, the Philippine National Police in Negros Oriental have seized almost one million pesos worth of suspected shabu from various anti-illegal drugs operations across the province.
Sr. Insp. Ryan Jay Orapa, head of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group of the Negros Oriental PNP Provincial Office (disclosed that a total of 56 anti-illegal drugs operations were conducted province-wide during the period.
The suspected shabu confiscated for the same period totaled 68.61 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P809,598.00, said Orapa.
Also confiscated were a total of 200 grams of suspected marijuana with an estimated DDB value of P1,100.00.
The police arrested 62 people and filed 56 cases as well for the period covered, Orapa disclosed.
Highlighting the anti-illegal drugs operations in Negros Oriental this month was a one-day massive campaign on January 25 at which police netted more than half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu and arrested more than 20 people.
The intensified operations came following an order by Negros Island Region 18 police regional director Chief Supt. Conrado Capa to sustain the operations against illegal drugs. (PNA)
