The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office is toying the idea of inviting Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents to the province to enhance the knowledge and skills of the present crop of police investigators in the province.

NORPPO OIC provincial director Sr. Supt. Harris Fama, whose expertise is on investigation as a former regional director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Region 5, has confirmed that the two FBI agents will be coming next month to train investigators from all the police stations in the province, regarding techniques and related matters.

Fama said the FBI agents have committed to help their counterparts in the investigation division, like what it did in Camarines Norte.

According to Sr. Supt. Fama, the first training conducted by the FBI in Camarines Norte was a success, and so he is inviting them again to Negros Oriental to share their expertise, knowledge and knowhow about advanced investigation.

Fama said he is fortunate to have friends and connections with the FBI, being an FBI academy graduate himself in 2007.

He stressed this is not to downplay the schooling and trainings undertaken by police investigators in the province but simply to enhance their abilities, skills and effectivity in solving crimes. (PNA)
