The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office is set to conduct a 60-day Basic Internal Security Operations Course for 171 police personnel in the Province.

In a Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting, NOPPO Provincial Director Police Col. Ronan Claraval said this exercise will help improve the skills and knowledge of the trainees in security operations such as counter-terrorism, anti-criminality, special operations, and anti-insurgency operations to maintain peace and security in the province.

The training will take place at Camp Hernan Carballo in Nagbagang, Sta Catalina to be facilitated by the police’s Regional Special Training Unit-7 from Cebu City.

“Although this training is already implemented throughout the Philippines, we recognize the unique needs of Negros Oriental. By conducting this training locally, we can tailor it to address specific challenges faced by our personnel,” said Claraval.

This initiative aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of police personnel assigned in the province, particularly those who have not yet undergone BISOC training.

“Lahat po ng police, from Canlaon, hangang Basay, yung wala pang mga training, sa dami ng walang training dito sa Negros Oriental, we requested it,” he added.

(We requested the training as there are still many police in Negros Oriental who have not yet undergone the training.)

The training will equip participants with essential skills in Internal Security Operations, focusing on counter-insurgency tactics and fostering a strong character and mindset during police operations. (JCT/PIA-7 NegOr)
