The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Dumaguete City, the capital of Negros Oriental, will be receiving 20 additional police officers to boost its current police force.

Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria disclosed this Thursday after he personally visited the Commission on Audit in Manila and the PNP national headquarters for the request for additional organic PNP personnel for Dumaguete.

The mayor also met with Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, the former PNP Region 7 director for Central Visayas, according to Syril Repe of the City Information Office.

Sagarbarria expressed gratitude that his trip to Manila had positive results after Garbo had approved of his request.

The 20 new organic police personnel are expected to report to the Dumaguete PNP next week.

The additional police officers will be a big boost to the current police force’s efforts to fight criminality in the city and maintain peace and order, he said. (PNA/FPV/JFP)
