The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) in cooperation with the local government of Dumaguete City through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) held Friday an overseas job fair in this capital.

Dumaguete-PESO chief Ma. Socorro Mira disclosed that on the same day, there will also be an e-Registration side by side with the job fair, held at the Robinsons Place shopping mall in Dumaguete.

According to Mira, around 12 overseas companies participated in the job fair that offered numerous jobs for those aspiring to apply for overseas employment.

The e-Registration, meanwhile, is the POEA’s online registration facility for Filipinos looking for a job abroad through the agency’s Government Placement Branch, said Mira.

This is the 2nd job fair to be held in Dumaguete through the PESO this month.

Just last week, the PESO in this capital city also conducted a local job fair as part of the celebration of the city’s charter day anniversary.

Some 20 employers/businesses joined in that job fair, with an initial of about eight to ten applicants that were hired on the spot, said Mira. (PNA)
