Police have arrested two suspected drug pushers in separate buy bust operations in Bacong and Manjuyod towns in Negros Oriental on Tuesday following intensified operations by the Philippine National Police against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province.

In Bacong town, police arrested a certain Vilsekie Duran, 28, a resident of Barangay San Miguel of that town around noontime Tuesday, after he allegedly sold suspected shabu to an undercover agent during a buy bust operation.

Confiscated from Duran were two transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and a P500 marked bill used by police operatives during said transaction.

Over in Manjuyod, members of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group of the police provincial office, aided by the town operatives, arrested a certain Marlon Romano Mariot, a resident of Barangay Poblacion of that northern municipality.

Mariot was arrested during a buy-bust operation at which he allegedly sold shabu to a poseur-buyer, a police report said.

Confiscated from the suspect were a transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu and a P500 marked bill.
Both suspects are now detained and appropriate charges are being readied against them. (PNA/JFP)
