Three suspected illegal drugs peddlers were arrested in police operations in Dumaguete City at 6 a.m. Wednesday and at around 4:15 p.m. Thursday.
Insp. Ryan Jay Orapa of the Police Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group yesterday identified the suspects as Claudette Gotual of Zone 4, Barangay Looc, her live-in partner, Fritz Daryl Montiza of Bayawan City, Arnel Tayo Villancio, of Cambagahan, Bais City, and Pelagio Zerna, alias Payok, of Tanjay City.
Zerna was able to escape on a motorcycle while the arrest was underway, Orapa said.
The raid at Gotual’s house yielded four big transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 23.92 grams and costing about P282,256, a digital weighing scale, and alleged shabu paraphernalia, police reports show. The raiding team confiscated from Montiza a sachet of suspected shabu, Orapa said.
The search warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Gerardo Paquio Jr., and implemented by a joint team from the PAIDSOTG, led by Orapa, the NOPPO Provincial Public Safety Company, the Special Weapons and Tactics team, with the participation of the PNP Special Operations Group-Provincial Intelligence Bureau, headed by Senior Insp. Jamal Jamiri, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency local office.
The PAIDSOTG, SOG-PIB, PDEA and local police conducted a buy-bust operation in Tinaogan, Bindoy town Wednesday, and arrested Villancio, after he and Zerna delivered a big plastic sachet of suspected shabu granules/powder, worth around P30,000, to a police poseur- buyer.
The police will file drugs charges against the suspects, Orapa added. (PNA/JFP)
