The Prime Machine Dancers of Barangay Buñao in Dumaguete City expressed their gratitude to the people of Dumaguete and the province of Negros Oriental for their overwhelming support during their competition stint at Showtime, a morning variety show aired on ABS-CBN.
The group paid a courtesy visit to Dumaguete Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria Monday afternoon, accompanied by Barangay Buñao Chairman Lionel Banogon.
Mayor Sagarbarria extended his congratulations of the members of the Prime Machine Dancers, saying the city government of Dumaguete and the entire province are so proud of the group’s achievement for dominating the weekly finals last June 25.
He encouraged them to keep their fighting spirit because they are already a pride of Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental. He also challenged the group to always instill in their hearts the good virtue of being a Dumagueteño.
The team captain of the group, Don Mar Teves, said the overwhelming support of the people from Dumaguete and Negros Oriental is like an energy drink that continues to uplift their spirits to perform their best.
Teves asked the support of the community to offer prayers for the monthly elimination on July 9, which shall qualify the winner to the grand finals.
Teves also shared that some of their instant fans in Manila described them as “hard-headed young dancers” from the City of Gentle People. The description was taken from the brave and sometimes risky headspin stunts of Dave del Carmen, one of the members of the group.
