There’s an added ability in the skillset of persons with disabilities in the Province.
The Department of Science & Technology-Negros Oriental Provincial Science and Technology Center, in cooperation with DCCCO Multipurpose Cooperative and the Department of Social Welfare & Development, conducted a three-day skills training on advanced candle making at the Jeemz Candle Maker compound in Tugas, Tanjay City.
Around 14 participants from Banilad PWDs association participated in the training aimed at teaching them how to operate candle machines for mass production, as well as improving their livelihood.
Rommel Romagos, DOST’s training coordinator, emphasized to participants that patience, dedication, and focus should be observed to achieve one’s goal in every endeavor.
Monaliza Nemenzo, DCCCO livelihood program coordinator, committed support from the Coop. Engr. Erwin Bayawa, proprietor of Jeemz Candle Maker, a SETUP-assisted firm in Tanjay, was the resource person.
