The Silliman community will get a taste of the newest recreational sport that is becoming a craze in America, Japan, and Australia on Thursday, Aug. 24 as DTC Promos presents Ramball to Unite, a half-day program of team-building non-traditional games that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Presented by the Sillimanians in Metro Manila (SIMM) and supported by Lenovo, Ramball to Unite aims to gather various campus organizations, mix them up with alumni, divide them into four teams, and get them to take on various challenging games that will test their speed, agility, coordination, endurance, and team-work all in the spirit of fun.

Ramball to Unite is the newest version of the exciting, community-building program organized in 2001 and 2014 by Ed Dames, outgoing SIMM president, whose company, DTC Promos has organized over 200 corporate team-building programs for companies like Unilever, Coca-Cola, Holcim, Belo Group, and Lenovo.

Dames is flying a team of eight professional talents from Manila who will serve as Game officials.

“We wanted to promote the bayanihan spirit by inviting various stakeholders to contribute needed services,” Dames said.

Ramball will open at 7am on Aug. 24 with a Zumba-Yoga warm-up led by Karen Buenvenida.

Hosted by Hollywood talent Steve Sanchez, and Ms. Dumaguete 2014 and Masscom student Malka Shaver, the event will feature special performances by top campus bands, and a powerful dance number by choice talents led by MEV Dance Studio instructor, Froilan Usman.

Special prizes will be given to the Oldest Alumnus Participant, the Participant from the Farthest Origin, the Most Valuable Male & Female Players, Ramball Face of the Day, and Best Selfie.

All participants can also win raffle prizes from San Miguel Brewery, Panda Ice Cream Haus, Gong Cha, Dr. Radi Veruasa-Apostol, and DTC Promos.

Providing strong support as local partners are the SU College of Mass Communication and its Kapunungan sa mga Mass Communicators, the Council of Student Government Organizations, the SU Camera Club, Artista Sillimaniana, the SU Student Government Sports Committee, the F-Day Committee, Sillimanians Alumni Association, ONe Rescue, and the Fil-Chinese Fire Brigade.

The games will be covered live by Skycable. MetroPost is official media partner.
