Silliman University-Angelo King Center for Research and Environmental Management (SUAKCREM) takes pride in announcing the publication or completion of six papers in the field of vertebrate biodiversity (see list below).
These are in addition to some dozen papers dealing with biodiversity and river studies under the sponsorship of the Commission on Higher Education, all awaiting publication in the Silliman Journal.
Publication of scientific articles by universities in ISI journals is necessary. To quote from an article published in the top UK journal Nature, “a strong science base need not lead directly to wealth generation. However, strength in science has additional benefits for individual nations, and for the world as a whole. From global terrorism and the spread of disease to the dangers of global warming, we are increasingly facing the sorts of threats for which governments everywhere will need to turn to their scientists.”
