The Department of Interior & Local Government has conferred on Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo the Disiplina Muna Regional Champion/Ambassador of the Bida ang may Disiplina: Solusyon sa CoViD-19 advocacy campaign.
During the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary organized by Civil Service Commission 7 in Cebu City, Remollo shared the success of Dumaguete City in controlling the spread of CoViD-19 infection while ensuring the continuous delivery of public service and assistance to the affected residents.
Remollo shared the best practices adopted by the City Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases in achieving the highest CoViD-19 vaccination rate in Central Visayas.
This is by inoculating more than 80 percent of the eligible population, and for being one of the cities that was among the first to be downgraded to Alert Level 1, allowing the local economy to fully reopen.
Meanwhile, Dumaguete Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla was awarded by CSC7 as one of the Regional Winners for the 2022 Search for Outstanding Government Workers for the Dangal ng Bayan Individual Category for her outstanding leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic in tandem with the mayor.
Remollo reminded the public to remain vigilant and follow the minimum health standards, while expressing his profound gratitude to the health workers and other frontliners for their dedicated service that helped control the spread of the virus and for taking care of those infected. (JCT/PIA7 NegOr)
