Representative Pryde Henry Teves of the 3rd district of Negros Oriental has challenged police and other law enforcement authorities to prove the real involvement of their family in the alleged plot to liquidate Councilor Atty. Victoriano Alabastro of Bayawan City.

The dare came after the PNP and the NBI included Board Member Arnolfo Teves Jr.,’s name among the eight respondents in the frustrated murder case filed at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Dumaguete City.

According to Rep.Teves, the accusations and dragging the name of his brother and their family in the controversy is so unfair. Teves said the issue has already caused too much injury to their family and has traumatized their children.

He promised to file counter charges against the Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation if they cannot prove the involvement of his brother in the said case.

He said his brother, Arnolfo Teves, Jr., is honestly serving the Provincial Board being the Federation President of the Association of Barangay Captains in Negros Oriental. He strongly believes that his brother is innocent.

He added that his brother is now renewed after having undergone rehabilitation both for drug addiction and anger management. (PNA/JFP/Maricar Aranas)
