The concept store — Res|Toe|Run — held their first fashion show called the “Fashion Edge” last July 7 at the atrium of Robinson’s Place Dumaguete.
The event was held in partnership with the Silliman University Student Government (SUSG) which not only helped organize the fashion show but also the models which promote the products.
Res|Toe|Run is a fashion footwear store, under the Primer Group of Companies, which adapted the unique concept of a restaurant, hence their slogan; “your appetite for shoes.” It coined the types of footwear they sell from the syllables of the term restaurant in which each would signify a certain type of footwear’s function. “Res” is for comfortable, casual footwear, “Toe” is for flip-flops and sandals, and “run” is termed for athletic inspired footwear.
Fashion Edge was an event designed to not only promote the different brands the store sold but their concept of presentation. Adelle Abalos, a sophomore from the College of Arts and Sciences, and representative of the SUSG.
“Everything we did was casual; we needed to be edgy even in the simplest form,” Adelle Abalos, a sophomore from the College of Arts and Sciences, said.
She said they gave the show its name because the edge is the most striking part of a plane and at the same time it was what the whole fashion show was about.”
“The fashion show was a success because we were able to show off the ‘res,’ the ‘toe,’ and the ‘run.’ And for the models their best to show off those particular categories and they did their job well.” Said Miss Sweet Crisssan Alba Merced, the Marketing Associate/Account Executive of Primer Group of Companies.
Meanwhile, Andrew Dale Camandang, marketing communications officer of the Primer Group of Companies, said the fashion show also aimed to promote entrepreneurship among the Silliman Students who participated in the event. “We’re not only here to promote Res|Toe|Run but we want to help the students sell and to conduct this kind of activity because we can see that this early, they are already capable of organizing events, do their own planning and management.” (Paulo Lim, SU Masscom intern)
