Research concerning physics, the abundance of shallow water fish cucumber, and the downtrend in enrolment in agriculture and forestry in Central Visayas were discussed by three researchers of Negros Oriental State University.
The first research was titled Conception on Force and Gravity Among Graduating Seniors of NORSU, SY 2010-2011,presented by Dr. Deter Dayot, vice president for administration, planning & development, and acting dean, Graduate School.
The second research was An Assessment of the Diversity and Abundance of Shallow-water Sea Cucumber (Echinodermata: Holothuroidea) in Negros Oriental, presented by Dr. Esther Carumbana, chairperson, biology department. Sea cucumber is locally known as balat, popular among residents of Dumaguete and the coastal towns and cities of Negros Oriental. Carumbana has written scientific papers published in international scientific journals.
The third research was on Probing the Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resources Enrolment Downtrend in Central Visayas through the Unemployment Lens, presented by Dr. Ester Tan, current vice president for academic affairs.
Dr. Bernadette Tan, vice president for research & international linkages, said the rationale of this research-lecture was to nurture love for knowledge and develop inquisitive minds that would foster an intellectual exchange among faculty and students. (Joy Perez)
