After the earthquake drills for City Hall employees, the Dumaguete City Risk-Reduction Management Office has started the annual fire drill training for emergency awareness and preparedness for barangays, schools, and offices in the City.
Jose Chiu, head of the Local Disaster Risk-Reduction Management Office, said they started with fire and earthquake drills at the Central Bank office along Daro Highway.
He said everybody has a responsibility to be aware of “more detailed and more meticulous planning”.
The training for about 30 barangay captains and about 270 other barangay leaders will follow in May.
Chiu said the barangays have been alerted to prepare emergency kits including rope, flashlights. (PIO)
