The Negros Oriental 2 Electric Cooperative has a new general manager.
Eunora Y. Sameon was named the electric coop’s third GM following a meeting of the Board of Directors Oct. 3, which also saw the replacement of Chairman James Fontelo by Atty. Fe Marie Dicen-Tagle.
Sameon, a certified public accountant, is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Baguio. She has been with NORECO II since 1981, occupying various positions such as systems analyst, internal auditor, assistant to the GM for Budget, controller, and audit manager, before her appointment as the GM. Prior to joining NORECO II, she worked for five years as a financial analyst of the Rates Division at the National Electrification Administration.
She takes over Dionefred K. Macahig who functioned as acting GM since Sept. 12, 2011.
In a statement released by the electric cooperative, Sameon said her priority plans include the transformation of Noreco 2 into a competitive distribution utility, living up to its new slogan ‘Wired to Serve,” thus providing our Member-Customer-Owners the best service they deserve,” she said.
She asked the public to continue supporting Noreco 2 II by paying their bills promptly, subscribing to capital shares, and being vigilant by reporting suspected pilferers of electricity, among other things.
