Foundation University held its Annual Sand Sculpture Competition last July 11 at Vida Homes Condo Resort in the town of Dauin, Negros Oriental.

Spearheaded by the Department of Architecture & Fine Arts, the competition aims to promote teamwork and creativity, as well as for the students to have fun and get acquainted among the Architecture & Fine Arts community.

The student category saw 38 teams with six members each battling it out for their best interpretation on the theme Come and See what Clicks! Three teams signed up for the professional category.

DAFA instructors emerged as the top ranking team for the professional category, followed by EntheosIT Architects, and EntheosIT Web Developers.

The team from the School of Industrial Engineering & Technology nabbed the 1st place in the student category with Dauin Science High School and FU High School as 2nd and 3rd placers, respectively.

Councilor Cesar Moral, member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Dauin, together with University of Washington Associate Prof. Ray Villanueva, and FU’s ESL Director Hedy Toolen judged the competition based on aesthetics, attention to detail, and relevance to the theme. (Febby Marton Rule)
