The Securities and Exchange Commission has assured faster transactions for clients in Negros Oriental and Siquijor with the establishment of a satellite office in this City.
Annabelle Corral-Respall, director of SEC-Bacolod Extension Office, said the move aligns with the agency’s goal to streamline services following the creation of the Negros Island Region in 2023.
To support operations, the SEC approved a plantilla position for a certified public accountant to handle technical applications and provide administrative assistance.
Due to resource constraints, however, CPA-lawyer Leo Salvador from Siaton, Negros Oriental, will serve as OIC, and will be available on Thursdays and Fridays.
Respall also underscored SEC’s digitalization efforts, noting that most services are now accessible online.
The SEC has partnered with local institutions including Foundation University, the municipality of Valencia, and the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
NOCCI President Edward Du welcomed the SEC office in the Province, underscoring its convenience for business clients.
He said he takes pride in the fact that NOCCI is the only Chamber in the country to house an office of the Securities and Exchance Commission, aimed at ensuring faster transactions with businessmen.
The SEC recently signed an agreement with the Department of Agrarian Reform to enhance the delivery of its mandated services in the Region.
