The mayor is hoping that other senators will also fulfill their promise to give a share of their budget allocation to Dumaguete City.
A boardwalk, he said, is expected to further enhance the tourist potential of Rizal Boulevard.
Mayor Sagarbarria said he plans to develop the Rizal Boulevard because it is the show window of Dumaguete that has captured the interest and love of foreign and local tourist to visit and stay here.
He said the sprouting of business establishments along the Rizal Boulevard is already an indication that economy is growing and flourishing through the tourism industry. This can also be attributed to the peace and order and the presence of tourist police around the city.
The city government, meanwhile, also received a P2.5 million Special Allocation Release Order (SARO) for the construction of a multi-purpose building at Herminigilda Gloria Memorial High School in Banilad. The project will be undertaken by the Department of Public Works & Highways. (PNA/ jfp/Maricar Aranas)
